Brexit Hits Looky Looky Men

Looky Looky Men are an established part of the tourist culture on the Costa Del Sol, peddling their wares on beaches and in bars along the length of the coast.  Recent uncertainty surrounding Brexit is impacting their business though, and they are taking the coming winter to rebrand as fewer British tourists are expected to visit Spain in 2018.

The Council Of Costa Del Sol Beach And Bar Traders have announced that from January 2018, Looky Looky Men will be changing their focus to French tourists.  Winston Fernandez (who will become known as Pierre Fernandez) said “We are going to be known as Le Regardez Regardez Hommes.  It’s important for us to move with the times, and grow our business according to the tourists who frequent our trading hot spots”

New Catchphrases

During the winter break, the tradesmen will be learning phrases spoken by French characters, to replace “lovely jubbly” and “cheap as chips”.  New phrases will translate to “What is it snowy?” from the famous TinTin films, and “Retreat surrender!” from some French war films.

Products

The Regardez Regardez Hommes will continue to stock the same lines of goods as they have done over previous tourist seasons.  Mr. Fernandez told us “We were concerned that the French may not wish to buy as much cheap tat as the British tourists.  But then we saw some of the cars they buy and this reassured us that they are almost as tasteless as the Brits”.
