Outrage Over Costa Del Sol Christmas Lights
Excitement over a new Christmas lights show in Malaga has turned to outrage as visitors brand the attraction “obscene”, “distasteful,” and “rude”. A press release from Malaga County Council prior to the official switch on said that the 2022 Christmas lights woud be “modern, progressive, exciting, and fun”. There are now calls for the man responsible to be sacked,
Malaga Christmas Lights Too Suggestive
The man responsible for the lights this year is Salvador Luces, from the Andalucia Recreational Sound Experience company. He told Costa Del Sol Update “We didn’t realise until the lights had been erected that they could possibly look a little bit suggestive. It’s not too bad though, it’s certainly bringing in the tourists. I don’t know why people want me to get sacked for this.”
Malaga Christmas Lights Disgraceful
People travel from all over Europe (and the United Kingdom) every year to see the Malaga Christmas Lights. Neville Holder from Birmingham says “Actually I’m not from Birmingham, I’m from Erdington. Every year I bring the family to Malaga to see the lights, it’s a holiday we look forward to. I’ve seen the pictures of the new lights though. We’re not coming this year. We probably couldn’t come anyway because of Brexit, but we wouldn’t bother anyway now. I’m not exposing my family to this”.
Outraged Expats
Some expats living on the Costa Del Sol are so outraged by the Malaga Christmas Lights that they are threatening to leave Spain. Anne Fernandez runs a Facebook protest group where people express outrage on important political topics like Brexit and how many mince pies should be sold in a standard size box at Iceland.
Anne says “My members are outraged by these Christmas lights. Several of the Brits on my page are threatening to move back to England because of this, or at least move to Alicante where they say the Inland Revenue won’t be able to find them. Personally though I’m outraged that people are so outraged by this. I can’t see anything wrong with the lights at all.”
