Brits have blasted the announcement that Boris Johnson is to receive a peerage in the Spanish New Year’s honours list. The British Prime Minister will be presented with a title and a trophy at a ceremony hosted by a member of the Spanish Royal Family in January, if Spain decides to lift it’s ban on travellers entering the country from plague ridden Britain.

A spokesperson for the Spanish Honours Information Team, Sr. Maloliente Caca, told Costa Del Sol Update “We wanted to show our solidarity with the British community in Spain now that Brexit has happened. There is no better way to do this than by bestowing one of Spain’s highest honours on the British Prime Minister, a man who has worked tirelessly to promote traditional values and unity to the commoners”.

Spanish Honours For Boris Johnson

Boris Johnson will be awarded the honorary title of Duke Of Los Boliches, he will be presented with the Torremolinos Within Andalucia Trophy award, and have a road named after him. The respected British politician is said to be overwhelmed at receiving these honours, and hopes to attend to the ceremony in person if his PCR test shows a negative result.

Calle Boris Johnson

The Camino De Acevedo in Fuengirola is to be renamed Calle Boris Johnson in honour of the most popular British Prime Minister since Theresa May. Expat Matt Finnish from Birmingham said “actually I’m not from Birmingham, I’m from Sutton Coldfield. This road is a great choice, it’s got a crematorium on it and a sewage treatment plant. Two things that are really in harmony with Boris’s handling of the coronavirus crisis and Brexit”.

Outraged Expats

The expat community has reacted with anger and disbelief at the honour for Boris Johnson. Anne Fernandez runs a Facebook group where expats can express their outrage at the rising cost of Bisto gravy and Brexit . She says “My members are outraged, and I am too. To wake up to this news, on New Year’s Day. is traumatic to say the least. Boris has made us the laughing stock of Europe. I encourage my members to boycott the crematorium on Calle Boris Johnson to demonstrate our disapproval”.
